Kindergarten to Year 2
We go to themAn educator collects them from their classroom door.
Years 3 to 6
They come to usThey walk straight to the hall and sign in with an educator.
Not in the hall by 3.15pm? We ask the office, then ring you.
Who can collect
Only adults on your child’s authorised list, which you keep up to date in the parent app. The first time someone collects, we ask for photo ID. Someone new today? Add them in the app, or call us before 3pm.
Running late
We close at 6pm. Running late? Call (02) 5550 0384 as soon as you know, rather than texting an educator: they don’t carry personal phones. After 6pm the late fee is $15 for each 15 minutes, and two educators stay until the last child goes home.
In the morning: at 8.45am we walk Kindergarten to Year 2 to their class lines. Years 3 to 6 sign out with us and head to their lines.

How the subsidy brings it down
The Child Care Subsidy is means tested and covers vacation care too. Services Australia decides whether you’re eligible and your percentage, and pays it to us. We take it off the fee.

Subsidyyour percentage
Gapwhat you pay
The subsidy isn’t a place. Being eligible doesn’t hold a spot at the club. We tell you which days have room, and your days are yours once we confirm them.
The percentage applies to our fee or the government’s hourly cap, whichever is lower. Check yours with Services Australia, or ask us about the Additional Child Care Subsidy if things are tight.
No enrolment fee. Late pick-up after 6pm is $15 for each 15 minutes.
Permanent or casual
Once you’re enrolled, bookings, changes and absences all happen in the parent app.
Permanent
The same days every week, kept for you term after term until you change them. Best if you work set days.
Casual
A one-off session on a day with room. Book it by 6pm the day before.
- Changing permanent days: two weeks’ notice in the app.
- Cancelling a casual session: free until 6pm the day before. After that, the session fee applies.
- Sick or away: mark it in the app or call us by 2pm, so we don’t go looking at 3pm. Permanent sessions are still charged.
Holidays are booked on their own
Before each school holidays we send out the vacation care program. You pick the days you want in the app, and we confirm them in the order requests arrive, while there’s room.
New to the club?
- Ask for a sessionTell us the days you need. It takes a minute.
- We reply within a school dayWith the days that have room, or a place on the waitlist.
- Enrol securelyYour child’s details, medical plans and your CRN go in the enrolment form we send, never through this website.
- Confirmed in the appYour days show in the parent app, and that’s your place.
Play, rest and a snack
School’s done for the day. Afternoons are for eating, playing and resting, and children choose what they do.
Afternoon tea at the long tables.
Outside: handball, the oval, the play equipment.
Inside: art, Lego, board games, or a beanbag and a book until pick-up.
There’s a homework table for anyone who wants it, but we’re not tutors and don’t promise better marks.
A holiday day
One planned thing each day, like a cooking morning, a sports day on the oval, a visitor or an outing, with lots of free play around it.
The children help choose what goes in the program. We plan with My Time, Our Place, the approved framework for school age care, which puts play, choice and belonging first. Mornings before school are slower: breakfast, then drawing and quiet games until the walk to class.
Who looks after them
Mosese Tupou
CoordinatorHolds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
Mosese runs the club day to day and is its nominated supervisor and educational leader, so the program, the roster and any problem come back to him. Most afternoons he’s on the handball court.
Siobhan Keane Educator
Holds a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Runs afternoon tea (that’s her pouring the water) and the art table.
Darcy Hayes Educator
Studying primary teaching. Walks Kindergarten to Year 2 from class and runs games on the oval.
- Every educator holds a NSW Working with Children Check, the state’s screening for work with children. We verify each one before a first shift, and we don’t publish the numbers.
- There’s no national qualification for outside school hours care, so we list the awards each of us actually holds.
- Personal phones stay in the office while educators are with children. Photos for the app are taken on the club’s own tablet, only with your permission.
Who runs the club
Gumtrack After School Club is run by the Sumner Lane Community Association Inc., a not-for-profit group of school families, which is the approved provider. The club is an approved outside school hours care service under the National Quality Framework, regulated in NSW by the NSW Early Learning Commission.
Our policies, including child safety, collection and photos, are in the hall, and we’ll email you any of them. To compare approved services, their fees and quality ratings, see StartingBlocks.gov.au.
If something doesn’t feel right
Tell Mosese, or write to the association’s committee at committee@gumtrackclub.example. Children can tell any educator, and we’ll listen and act. You can also take a concern to the NSW Early Learning Commission.
Questions parents ask
Which children can come?
Children at Sumner Lane Public School, from Kindergarten to Year 6, for school days, holidays and pupil free days.
Do you have room?
Mornings, yes, every day. Afternoons have room on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Wednesdays and Thursdays are full, and we keep a waitlist.
Being on the waitlist isn’t a place. When one comes up we offer it in the order families joined, and it’s yours once you accept it in the app.
What if my child is sick or away?
Mark them absent in the parent app, or call (02) 5550 0384, by 2pm, so we don’t go looking for them at 3pm. Permanent sessions are charged as usual when a child is away.
Can you support allergies or extra needs?
Ring Mosese before you enrol and tell him what helps your child. Medical and action plans go in the secure enrolment, not on this website.
If extra support would help, we can apply to the Inclusion Support Program, which helps services include children with additional needs. It doesn’t pay families, and we can’t promise it.
Will they do their homework?
Only if they want to. There’s a quiet table for it, and an educator nearby, but we don’t tutor.
Are you open on pupil free days?
Yes, 7.30am to 6pm at the vacation care fee of $72. Book it in the app like a holiday day.
What should they bring?
A hat and a drink bottle, and in the holidays, lunch. Please put names on everything.
