Financial planning in Hobart, with every cost on the table.

Imogen Voss, financial adviser, smiling with a retired couple at a round table in her Hobart office, a street of weatherboard houses through the window.

Retirement, super, investing and insurance advice, for couples and families. What it costs runs down the left, layer by layer.

What advice costs here

Four layers, kept apart. Each is priced in dollars before you agree to it. Tap a layer to see what it covers and how it’s charged.

Underneath all four, the first meeting is free. Nothing here is charged by us until you’ve agreed to it in writing.

Imogen Voss

Financial Adviser

Principal

Imogen sees every client herself, from the first meeting to the yearly review. Most are couples working out when they can retire, and adult children helping a parent with the money side of aged care. She’d rather you leave with a few clear decisions than a thick folder.

Licensee
Imogen is an authorised representative of Kingfold Advice Pty Ltd, AFSL 000000 (example), the licence we advise under.
Check before you book
Advisers who give personal advice to people like you must be registered, and listed on ASIC’s Financial Advisers Register. Check the register

This is an example site: Imogen and Kingfold Advice are fictional, so the register won’t find them, and the AFSL is a placeholder. A real practice links to its adviser’s own entry.

Hamish Tolley

Client Services Manager

Hamish looks after appointments, paperwork and the secure client portal. He isn’t a financial adviser and doesn’t give advice, but he always knows where your forms are up to, and he’s usually the one who answers the phone.

The first meeting

A conversation, not a sales pitch.

What it costs

Free
How long
About 45 minutes.
Where
Murray Street, by video anywhere in Tasmania, or your kitchen table around Hobart.
Who
Imogen, and anyone you’d like to bring.
What happens
You tell us what you’re weighing up. Imogen tells you if she can help, and what written advice would cover and cost. No advice, nothing to sign.

Bring, if it’s handy

  • Your latest super statements
  • A rough list of what you own and owe
  • Any insurance policies you have
  • The questions you keep coming back to

Please don’t email statements before we meet. If you go ahead, Hamish sets up a secure way to share them.

How advice works here

Written advice comes first. Each bar shows the cost layers that apply by then.

  1. The first meeting

Free, about 45 minutes, no advice. You find out if we can help, and the cost.

    So far: nothing

  2. A fixed fee, in writing

A short letter sets out what your advice covers and its fixed fee. Sign it to go ahead.

    So far: the advice fee

  3. Your written advice

What Imogen recommends, why, and the risks, with every other cost priced in dollars.

So far: the advice fee. The rest is shown, not agreed.

  4. You decide

Nothing is put in place until you agree in writing. Ask us to, do it yourself, or leave it.

    So far: the advice fee

  5. Putting it in place

Forms, rollovers and applications, for the fixed fee in your advice, priced apart from the advice itself.

Adds: this fee, and the product fees in your advice

  6. Ongoing service, if you want it

A yearly review and help in between, only if you ask and sign for it.

Optional: $3,960 a year, including GST

Ongoing service

It’s optional. You can take one piece of advice and stop there. If you’d like us to stay with you, this is what it covers and what it costs.

$3,960 a yearincluding GST, paid as $330 a month

It’s a choice, and you can change your mind. It starts only with your written agreement, we ask you to renew it each year, and you can end it any time.

Paying for advice from your super

Sometimes possible, never automatic.

It’s still your money. A fee paid from super comes out of your retirement savings instead of your bank account, so your advice shows the dollar amount either way and you choose.

Questions people ask first

Do I have enough money for advice to be worth it?

That’s what the first meeting is for, and it’s free. Imogen will tell you plainly if paying for advice doesn’t make sense for you.

If you need information rather than advice, Services Australia’s Financial Information Service is free to talk to.

Can I get one-off advice?

Yes: one piece of written advice, put in place or not, with no ongoing fee unless you ask for ongoing service.

Will I have to change my super fund or investments?

No. We start with what you already have. If Imogen recommends a change, your advice says why, what it costs and what you’d give up, and nothing changes unless you agree.

Can my partner or an adult child come along?

Yes, anyone you’d like. If you’re helping a parent, we’ll need to speak with your parent too, because the advice is for them.

Can we meet by video?

Yes, anywhere in Tasmania. You get a link that opens in your browser, with nothing to install, and Hamish can do a quick test call with you first if you’d like.

What if I’m unhappy, or want to stop?

Tell Imogen or Hamish first. Our complaints policy sets out the steps. If we can’t put it right, you can take it to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).

You can end ongoing service at any time by telling us, and the fee stops.
