What’s going on?

Do this while we’re on the way

Two minutes now can save the floor, the ceiling below, or worse.

Water everywhere? Turn it off at the meter

FROM THE STREET STOP TAP clockwise to close METER
Usually at the front boundary near the letterbox, under a small lid. Turn the stop tap on the street side of the meter clockwise until it stops.
  • Only one sink or toilet? Turn off the small tap on the pipe under it instead.
  • Water near power points or a ceiling sagging? Switch off the power at the switchboard and stay out of that room.
  • Toilet overflowing? Don’t flush it again.

Smell gas? Ring the gas network first

  1. If it’s safe, turn the gas off at the meter or the cylinder.
  2. No flames, and don’t flick switches or plug anything in.
  3. Open the doors and windows, and get everyone outside.

Once the network has made it safe, ring us on (02) 5550 0163 and we’ll find and fix the fault.

What it costs

Prices include GST. The call-out comes first, then one price for the job.

$99

Call-out, 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday morning

Covers the drive, the first 30 minutes and finding the fault. Go ahead with the repair and the $99 comes off the job price.

After hours, until 10pm and Sundays. Also comes off the job price.$189

Then we show you the problem and give you one total price. Nothing starts until you say yes, and nothing is added after.

These totals are for business hours and include the call-out. After hours, the job price is the same and the call-out is $189.

Pay by card when the job’s done. Agencies and strata managers can be invoiced on account.

Thinking about a heat pump?

Heat pump hot water can come with an upfront discount under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme, through participating installers. Read how it works on the NSW Government hot water page, then ask us which units we can quote.

How a job runs

  1. You ring, or send us the job

Tell us what’s happening. A photo helps us bring the right parts.

  2. We text who’s coming, and when

A two-hour window, then a text when the van is 20 minutes away, with the plumber’s name.

  3. We find it and give you one price

You see the problem and the total before any work starts. Say no and you pay the call-out only.

  4. Fixed, tested, cleaned up

We test it in front of you, wipe up, and take the old parts away.

  5. Your paperwork

Plumbing and drainage work: you get a copy of the Certificate of Compliance.

Gas work: we lodge the certificate with Building Commission NSW.

Your invoice shows the work done, the parts, and our licence number.

Who’ll turn up

Where we go

From Penrith, usually within the hour for urgent jobs.

Further up the Mountains, or out past the river? Ring first and we’ll tell you honestly how soon we can get there.

Questions

Do you charge a call-out fee?

Yes: $99 in business hours and $189 after hours, both including GST. It covers the drive, the first 30 minutes and finding the fault. If you go ahead with the repair, it comes off the job price.

How soon can you get here?

Ring and we’ll give you an honest time. For urgent jobs in our suburbs it’s usually within the hour. We text a two-hour window for planned work, then again when the van is 20 minutes away.

I can smell gas. What do I do?

If it’s safe, turn the gas off at the meter or the cylinder, open up, don’t use switches or flames, and get everyone out. Ring Jemena on 131 909, or 000 if there’s a fire or someone is unwell. Once it’s safe, ring us for the repair.

Should I repair or replace my hot water?

If the tank itself is leaking, it needs replacing. If it’s a valve or the element, it can usually be repaired. We carry common sizes in the van, so most like-for-like swaps are done the same day.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. For plumbing and drainage work you get a copy of the Certificate of Compliance. For gas work we lodge the certificate with Building Commission NSW.

I’m renting. Who pays?

Usually your landlord, through the agent. Send the agent’s name and we’ll get their OK and their work order number before we start, then invoice them directly.

Do you test backflow devices?

Yes. Rami is backflow-accredited. We test, lodge the report with Sydney Water, and remind you before next year’s test is due.

Do you guarantee your work?

Our labour is guaranteed for 12 months, in writing on the invoice. Parts carry the maker’s warranty, and your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply on top of both.

Smell gas? Do this first

The gas network makes it safe. We do the repair after.

  1. Turn it off, if it’s safe

At the gas meter, or at the cylinder for bottled gas.

  2. No flames, no switches

Don’t light anything, flick switches or plug anything in.

  3. Open up and get out

Doors and windows open, everyone outside.
