What people type when it starts to hurt.
Nobody searches for a physio when they’re well. These five searches bring a clinic most of its new patients, and each is won by something different.

physio open saturday
Hurt it at Saturday sport: whoever has a time today.
Weekend injuries are booked from the map by opening hours and the next free time. Saturday hours that match your diary, your own booking link on your Google profile and a booking page that shows today’s times on a phone get the booking before anyone rings around.

physio for lower back pain near me
A bad back: they search the pain, not the profession.
People search the problem in their own words: lower back pain, a stiff neck, a rolled ankle. A page for each complaint you see most, written for your suburbs and careful with claims, is what Google shows them. Ads catch the ones searching from bed at 6am.

physio after knee reconstruction
Rehab after surgery is chosen for months, not one visit.
After an ACL repair or a joint replacement, people compare clinics carefully, often from a short list the surgeon gave them. A rehab page that says what the weeks look like, the gym and equipment you use and how you report back to the surgeon makes you the one they pick.

physio hicaps near me
The fund question, asked before the booking.
Patients with extras cover want to know they can claim on the spot and whether you’re in their fund’s network. Saying you claim with HICAPS, and which networks you’re in, on your site and your Google profile answers it before they ring to ask.

workcover physio near me
Sent by a GP, an insurer or a case manager.
Patients on a GP care plan, a workers compensation claim or a CTP claim are often given a name or two, then check them on Google. A page for each scheme you’re approved with, and a plain line on bringing a GP referral, answers the question they’d otherwise ring to ask.

Ahpra and the Physiotherapy Board
Written with Ahpra’s advertising guidelines in mind.
Physio advertising has its own traps: the word specialist, a bare Dr, and condition pages that promise more than the evidence does. Everything we write, post and run for you is written with them in mind.
- Your Google rating shown as a number. No recovery stories, review quotes, or a club player saying you fixed his hamstring.
- ‘Specialist’ kept for Fellows of the Australian College of Physiotherapists, in the format the Board sets out. Everyone else ‘has substantial experience in’.
- ‘Dr’ always with the profession beside it: Dr Lee (Physiotherapist), in your header, your Google profile and your ads.
- Condition pages that say what you treat and how, with no cures, no ‘pain-free’ and nothing you can’t back with evidence.
- ‘Dry needling’, never ‘acupuncturist’, because that title needs an endorsement the Physiotherapy Board doesn’t offer.
- Fund networks, WorkCover and CTP mentioned only where you’re in them or approved, and every offer, a covered first visit included, with its terms.
What the first 90 days look like.
What Joseph would usually do first for a physio clinic. The order changes with what he finds before the call.
Weeks 1 to 2
Your profile and booking link
The Physiotherapist category, weekend and late hours that match your diary, your Cliniko or Nookal link set as the booking button, and a review request to every patient.
Weeks 2 to 4
Ads on the fresh injuries
If they fit: Saturday, sports injury and back pain searches in your suburbs, sent straight to booking, with every ad read against the Board’s guidance before it runs.
Months 2 to 3
Pages for what you see most
Backs, knees and shoulders, post-surgery rehab, and a page for each scheme you’re approved with, written for the suburbs your patients come from.
Every month
Counted bookings and a report
Every review answered without mentioning anyone’s care, new bookings counted by where they came from, and what moved in plain words.
Your website is where the booking happens.
Every map listing, ad and condition page ends at your site. If a patient can’t see your hours, the funds you claim with and a Book Online button on a phone, the marketing pays for visits that ring the clinic down the road instead. If yours needs work, Joseph rebuilds your homepage free first, and you see it before you decide anything.

How much does physio marketing cost?
With bdog, from $449 a month +GST for Google profile management. Website SEO is from $1,300 a month, and Google Ads management is from $600 a month plus your ad spend. Joseph quotes the mix for your clinic after a 15-minute call.
What is physio SEO?
Getting your clinic shown when people nearby search for a physio, or for the problem they have: your Google profile and reviews for the map, and pages on your website for back pain, sports injuries, post-surgery rehab and the suburbs you serve.
Do Google Ads work for physios?
For the right searches. Someone with a fresh injury, or searching for a physio open on Saturday, books quickly, and a new patient often comes back for several visits. A broad ‘physio’ search in a crowded inner suburb can cost more than it returns. Joseph checks what clicks cost around you before the call.
Can we use patient reviews or a player’s shout-out?
Not as testimonials. Ahpra’s guidelines don’t allow them in health advertising, and that includes resharing a patient’s or a club player’s post about their recovery. Your Google rating and review count can be shown as a number, with no review text and no link to the reviews.
Is physiotherapy marketing worth it if most patients come from GPs and word of mouth?
Those patients usually check you on Google before they book. A GP referral can name the profession rather than a clinic, so the patient still picks, and a friend’s recommendation gets searched. Physiotherapy marketing makes sure what they find is easy to book.
Can we advertise a free first consult?
Yes, if it’s genuinely free, isn’t made up for by a higher price later, and the terms are stated or one click away. Lines like ‘limited time only’ tied to someone’s health are out. Joseph usually suggests showing your real fee and the funds you claim with instead.
