What we look at for a family law firm.

The details are different for every profession.

Why it’s free

It’s the quickest way for you to judge our work, and it’s the first step of building your site anyway. If you go ahead, the rebuild becomes your homepage.

  • Safe contact

A quick exit, safe times to call, and no surprise voicemails.

  • Children, money, divorce

Three separate processes, given three separate routes.

  • The first appointment

The fee including GST, how long it runs, who you see and how.

  • Urgent matters

Served papers and close deadlines sent to a person, not a form.

  • Who you’ll see

Your lawyers named, with accreditation only where it’s held.

A homepage for someone who may be reading it in secret.

An illustrative before. The practice is fictional.Merrin Wattle Family Law is a fictional practice. Open the Live Example (opens in a new tab)

  1. Built for a desktop. Opened on a phone.

    • The whole page shrinks to fit the screen, so nothing can be read without zooming.
    • The phone number is there, but far too small to tap.
    • Booking means finding a contact form link in the third column.
  2. The same business, rebuilt.

What was worth keeping is kept. Everything else is rebuilt around it.

  3. A way out, on every screen.

    • Leave this site sits top right and swaps the page for a neutral one in a single tap.
    • A line under it on the first screen says it hides the page but can’t clear history, because pretending otherwise is worse.
    • It stays put as the page scrolls.
  4. 000 comes before the firm’s own name.

    • Immediate danger goes to emergency services, not to a web form or an office that closes at five.
    • It’s one quiet line, not an alarm, because the reader may not be alone.
    • Support lines sit one tap further in.
  5. Children, money and the divorce are separate questions.

    • Ending a marriage, arranging children’s lives and dividing finances are different processes with different deadlines.
    • Each gets its own route on the first screen, plus one for people who aren’t sure yet.
    • Nobody has to know the legal word for their problem to find it.
  6. A fact card, not “affordable”.

    • The fee including GST, how long it runs, who you’ll see, and phone, video or in person.
    • Court fees are shown apart from the lawyer’s fee, so the first number isn’t mistaken for the whole matter.
    • Prices on the example are marked as example pricing.
  7. When it’s safe to call, and whether to leave a message.

    • The enquiry asks for a safe time and whether a voicemail or text is okay, before anything else.
    • It asks for no details of the matter, so nothing sensitive sits in an inbox before a conflict check.
    • Messages are answered in office hours, and the form says so.
  8. Named lawyers, and no client stories.

    • Each lawyer is named with their role, and “accredited specialist” appears only where it’s been conferred.
    • There are no testimonials or case results, because the Family Law Act limits publishing accounts that identify the people in a case.
    • Trust comes from the process being explained plainly instead.

Written inside the rules lawyers advertise under. Solicitors’ advertising answers to the conduct rules and the Australian Consumer Law, so every site is written without outcome promises, with “accredited specialist” used only where it has been conferred, and with fees shown as a total including GST.

Switching in

You forward two or three logins: your domain, your current host, and your booking or enquiry system if you use one. We move the content, connect that system, set up redirects so Google keeps sending people to the right pages, and put it live. Your part is under an hour, total.

Switching back

Your old site stays where it is for 30 days after the new one goes live. If you’d rather have it back, for any reason, tell us and we point your domain at it the same day. You’re refunded in full and the care plan stops.

The advertising rules

Written inside the rules lawyers advertise under.

Solicitors’ advertising answers to the conduct rules and the Australian Consumer Law. Family law adds one more: the Family Law Act limits publishing anything that identifies the people in a case.

Read the Advertising Guides

  • Nothing that promises an outcome

No “we win custody”, no property percentages, no success rates.

  • “Accredited specialist” only where it’s held

And nothing that gives a false impression of specialist expertise.

  • No client stories that could identify anyone

The Family Law Act limits publishing accounts that identify the people in a case, and initials or consent don’t always make it lawful.

  • Fees as one total, including GST

The first appointment shown as a single price, with court fees kept separate.

You stay responsible for what your firm advertises, and we make it easier to get right.

All Questions, Answered

The free rebuild

Why is it free?

It’s the fastest way for you to judge our work without committing to anything, and it’s step one of your site if you go ahead. The rebuild becomes your homepage.

Is it just a template?

No. It’s built from your practice’s own services, team, hours and booking setup, on a structure designed for family law firms. Joseph reviews every decision before it reaches you, and the video explains each one.

Do I have to talk to anyone?

No. You get the rebuild and the video by email and watch in your own time. If you’d rather talk, Joseph’s number is at the bottom of the page.

What happens to the rebuild if I say no?

Nothing. Keep the ideas and use them however you like. The preview link closes after 7 days, and we don’t publish it or show it to anyone without your permission.

We already have a web developer. Does that matter?

Not for the rebuild. You can use it to see what’s possible before deciding who builds it. If you go ahead with us, we handle the move and your developer doesn’t need to be involved.

Going ahead

Will it work with our practice management system?

Enquiries go where your firm already works: into LEAP, Smokeball or Actionstep where your setup accepts web enquiries, or to your inbox. Nothing sensitive is collected on the site itself. We confirm how yours connects before you approve your design.

How much work is this for me?

Send your address, watch a two-minute video, say yes or no. If yes, forward the logins we ask for. We do the rest, including talking to your current host or booking provider if something needs untangling.

What happens to my current site?

Nothing, for 30 days. It stays live on its existing host so it’s there if you want it back. After that you can cancel the old hosting, or we’ll do it with you.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

We map every page on your old site to the right page on the new one before we switch, so links and search results keep landing somewhere sensible. Rankings move for all sorts of reasons, but a redirect map is what stops a move from being one of them.

What if I don’t like it once it’s live?

Say so within 30 days. We point your domain back at your old site, refund your website fees in full, and stop the care plan. No form, no reason required.

What’s the catch with the 12 months?

The first year pays off the build in monthly instalments, so there’s no large upfront cost. After 12 months the price drops to the care rate. If you leave early, you pay out the build that remains, and we hand over your content and design files.

Who owns the site?

Your domain, content and photos are yours from the start. The site runs on our platform, which is how it stays fast, secure and looked after. Once the build is paid off, at month 12 or up front, we’ll export everything whenever you ask.
