bdog builds websites for independent health practices. This page says what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). bdog is a trading name of Fide Digital Pty Ltd (ACN 633 134 700) as trustee for the Fide Business Group Trust, ABN 76 609 518 071, in Sydney’s Inner West. Anything in this policy, and any request under it, goes to hello@bdog.com.au or 0452 424 845.
What we collect
Most people who deal with us are practice owners and managers, and most of what we hold is business contact information:
- Your name, email address and phone number, and the name and address of your practice.
- Your practice’s web address or Google Business Profile, which is what we rebuild from.
- What you tell us about the practice: your profession, the plan you are interested in, and anything you write or say to us.
- If you become a client, your billing details and the content that goes on your website: your services, hours, team, photos and words.
- How you use this site: the pages you read, the device and browser you use, roughly where you are, how you arrived, and whether you opened or sent the request form. See Cookies and analytics.
We do not ask for health information and do not need it. Please don’t send us patient records or anything about a patient’s care. If a patient contacts us by mistake, we delete the message and point them to their practice.
How we collect it
- From you: the request form, the guide updates form, email, phone, text and meetings.
- Automatically, when you visit this site: analytics, advertising and CRM cookies, described below.
- From public sources, when we prepare a sample homepage for a practice: its public website, its Google Business Profile, its published reviews and its social pages.
- From our service providers, such as the delivery reports for email we send.
The request form also records where on the site you were, the button you pressed, the date we promised your rebuild by, and any campaign tags in the address you arrived from. That is how we know what worked, and how we keep the promise.
Why we collect, hold and use it
- To build and send your free rebuild, and to follow up about it.
- To answer you and quote for you, and if you go ahead, to build, host, maintain and bill your website.
- To keep our records and meet our legal and tax obligations.
- To run, secure and improve this site, and to see which pages and campaigns bring practices to us.
- To show our advertising to people who have visited this site, and to measure whether it works. You can opt out; see Cookies and analytics.
- To contact practices we think we can help. See Emails from us.
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the people and services we need to do the work:
- HubSpot, where we keep our contacts, our email conversations and the forms on this site.
- Google, for analytics and advertising.
- Meta, for advertising and measuring it.
- Netlify, which hosts this site, and Adobe, which serves its typeface.
- Our payment provider, our accountant and our professional advisers, where needed. Card payments are taken by the payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
- The booking, hosting and other platforms you ask us to connect your website to, on your instructions.
- Anyone the law requires us to tell, such as a court or a regulator.
Each of these is bound by its own privacy policy and by our agreement with it. We give them what they need for the job and no more.
Where it is stored
HubSpot, Google, Meta, Netlify and Adobe run on servers in the United States and elsewhere, so information we hold about you is likely to be stored or accessed outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We choose providers that commit to protecting it under their own policies and our agreements with them.
Sample homepages
We sometimes design a sample homepage for a practice from what is on its public website, so the practice can see what we would do before it talks to us. A sample uses only information the practice has already published: its name, services, photos, reviews and words. We only publish a sample that identifies a practice, on this site or in our advertising, if the practice has agreed in writing. To have a sample removed or a practice’s details deleted, email hello@bdog.com.au and we will do it promptly.
Emails from us
We write to practices we think we can help, usually with a sample of their own homepage, at the addresses they publish for business contact. Every such email is sent by bdog, ABN 76 609 518 071, Inner West, Sydney NSW, says who we are, and has a working way to stop them: reply “unsubscribe”, or email hello@bdog.com.au, and we stop within five business days. Guides go only to people who asked for them on this site, and each one carries an unsubscribe link.
The websites we build for practices
A website we build belongs to the practice, and so does the information patients submit through it: bookings, enquiries and forms. That information goes to the practice and to the booking or email system it chooses, under the practice’s own privacy policy, not this one. We handle it only when we are maintaining the site and on the practice’s instructions, we don’t copy it or use it for ourselves, and we build to the practice’s obligations under the Privacy Act and Ahpra’s advertising rules.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses these cookies and similar identifiers:
- Google Analytics (
_gaand related): which pages are read, on what kind of device, roughly where from, and how you arrived. We keep this for 14 months. Google Analytics does not log your IP address. - Meta pixel (
_fbp): that you visited, opened the request form or sent it, so we can show our ads to people who did and measure them. Meta may connect this to your Meta account under its own policy. - HubSpot (
hubspotutkand__hscookies): the pages you visit, joined to your contact record once you send a form, so we know what you looked at before you wrote to us. - Ours: the profession and web address you give this site are kept in your own browser’s storage so you don’t have to type them twice. They never leave your browser until you send the form.
None of these is needed for the site to work. To refuse them, block or clear cookies in your browser settings, install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on, or change your advertising preferences in your Meta and Google account settings.
How we keep it safe, and for how long
Personal information lives in the systems above, behind passwords and two-step sign-in, over encrypted connections, and only the people who need it can reach it. No system is perfect. If we ever have a data breach likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.
We keep request details while we are talking with you and for two years after our last contact, then delete or de-identify them. A sample homepage made for a practice that did not go ahead is deleted on request, and otherwise within twelve months. If you become a client, we keep your records for the life of the work and for seven years after it ends, as tax law requires. Analytics are kept for 14 months.
Seeing, correcting and deleting your information
You can ask at any time what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@bdog.com.au. We may need to check that it is you. We answer within 30 days and don’t charge for it. If the law requires us to keep a record, we will keep it and tell you why.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us at hello@bdog.com.au or on 0452 424 845. We will look into it and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Other websites
This site links to booking systems, regulators and other sites. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.
