What we look at for a music school.

The details are different for every profession.

Why it’s free

It’s the quickest way for you to judge our work, and it’s the first step of building your site anyway. If you go ahead, the rebuild becomes your homepage.

  • Instrument first

The way in is the instrument, then the teacher.

  • Who teaches it

Each teacher, with what they actually hold.

  • What you need at home

The instrument and space to practise.

  • Exams and pathways

    Solo, ensemble or exams, explained.

  • Lessons and terms

    Lengths, prices and make-ups.

A site that matches each student to an instrument and a teacher.

An illustrative before. The practice is fictional.Silky Oak Music School is a fictional practice. Open the Live Example (opens in a new tab)

  1. Built for a desktop. Opened on a phone.

    • The whole page shrinks to fit the screen, so nothing can be read without zooming.
    • The phone number is there, but far too small to tap.
    • Booking means finding a contact form link in the third column.
  2. The same business, rebuilt.

What was worth keeping is kept. Everything else is rebuilt around it.

  3. Instruments as the doors.

    • Piano, guitar, voice, drums and violin hang on the wall.
    • Each leads to its teacher.
    • Each says what you need at home.
  4. Teachers, as qualified.

    • Each teacher is named with their instruments.
    • Qualifications and memberships are stated as held.
    • Working with Children Checks are explained.
  5. Before the first lesson.

    • The instrument each student needs is described.
    • Hiring before buying is explained.
    • Practice time is suggested, not prescribed.
  6. What a grade means.

    • What exams involve is explained.
    • An exam grade isn’t a teaching qualification.
    • Exams are optional.
  7. One price per lesson length.

    • Each lesson length shows one price.
    • Terms and make-up lessons are explained.
    • Adults are welcome, and the page says so.
  8. How to start.

    • A first lesson is explained, with its price.
    • Booking it is one step.
    • Nobody is locked into a long contract.

Written inside the rules music teachers work under. Every site states teachers’ memberships and qualifications exactly as held, explains that an exam grade isn’t a teaching qualification, never presents lessons as music therapy or NDIS-funded, and shows prices as one total.

Switching in

You forward two or three logins: your domain, your current host, and your booking or enquiry system if you use one. We move the content, connect that system, set up redirects so Google keeps sending people to the right pages, and put it live. Your part is under an hour, total.

Switching back

Your old site stays where it is for 30 days after the new one goes live. If you’d rather have it back, for any reason, tell us and we point your domain at it the same day. You’re refunded in full and the care plan stops.

The advertising rules

Written inside the rules music teachers work under.

Private music teaching has no licence or protected title, so credentials are memberships, qualifications and exam grades, stated exactly. Child safe standards and child screening apply in their own form in every state.

  • Credentials as held

    Memberships and grades, stated exactly.

  • Grades aren’t teaching awards

    And the page says so.

  • Not therapy

    And not NDIS-funded.

  • One total price

Including any charge a family can’t avoid.

You stay responsible for what your business advertises, and we make it easier to get right.

All Questions, Answered

The free rebuild

Why is it free?

It’s the fastest way for you to judge our work without committing to anything, and it’s step one of your site if you go ahead. The rebuild becomes your homepage.

Is it just a template?

No. It’s built from your practice’s own services, team, hours and booking setup, on a structure designed for music schools. Joseph reviews every decision before it reaches you, and the video explains each one.

Do I have to talk to anyone?

No. You get the rebuild and the video by email and watch in your own time. If you’d rather talk, Joseph’s number is at the bottom of the page.

What happens to the rebuild if I say no?

Nothing. Keep the ideas and use them however you like. The preview link closes after 7 days, and we don’t publish it or show it to anyone without your permission.

We already have a web developer. Does that matter?

Not for the rebuild. You can use it to see what’s possible before deciding who builds it. If you go ahead with us, we handle the move and your developer doesn’t need to be involved.

Going ahead

Will it work with our booking system?

Lesson bookings go to the studio software you already use, where it takes web bookings, or to your inbox. We confirm how yours connects before you approve your design.

How much work is this for me?

Send your address, watch a two-minute video, say yes or no. If yes, forward the logins we ask for. We do the rest, including talking to your current host or booking provider if something needs untangling.

What happens to my current site?

Nothing, for 30 days. It stays live on its existing host so it’s there if you want it back. After that you can cancel the old hosting, or we’ll do it with you.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

We map every page on your old site to the right page on the new one before we switch, so links and search results keep landing somewhere sensible. Rankings move for all sorts of reasons, but a redirect map is what stops a move from being one of them.

What if I don’t like it once it’s live?

Say so within 30 days. We point your domain back at your old site, refund your website fees in full, and stop the care plan. No form, no reason required.

What’s the catch with the 12 months?

The first year pays off the build in monthly instalments, so there’s no large upfront cost. After 12 months the price drops to the care rate. If you leave early, you pay out the build that remains, and we hand over your content and design files.

Who owns the site?

Your domain, content and photos are yours from the start. The site runs on our platform, which is how it stays fast, secure and looked after. Once the build is paid off, at month 12 or up front, we’ll export everything whenever you ask.
