What we look at for an optometry practice.

The details are different for every profession.

Why it’s free

It’s the quickest way for you to judge our work, and it’s the first step of building your site anyway. If you go ahead, the rebuild becomes your homepage.

  • Eye test or eyewear

Eye tests and glasses as two clear routes, so nobody books the wrong visit.

  • Fees and rebates

Your fee, and who Medicare covers and how often, in plain words.

  • Urgent eye problems

Sudden changes in vision sent to the phone, not a booking form.

  • Appointment types

Children, contact lenses and dry eye booked as the visits they are.

  • Easy to read

Large, high contrast text for people who came because they can’t see well.

Two jobs, one shopfront. The site keeps them apart.

Scroll to watch a homepage rebuilt, then see why each piece is where it is.

  1. A stock theme with the business’s name on it.

    • The first screen is a stock photo and the word Welcome.
    • Booking is somewhere inside the menu.
    • The phone number and the hours are at the very bottom of the page.
  2. The same business, rebuilt.

What was worth keeping is kept. Everything else is rebuilt around it.

  3. Two jobs share the shopfront. The two lenses split them.

    • An eye test and a new pair of glasses are different visits, with different people and different payments.
    • In the first screen, the two lenses of a big pair of spectacles are the two doors, Eye tests and Glasses and contact lenses, so each visitor goes the right way before they meet a form.
    • On a phone they sit side by side, right above the booking button.
  4. A sudden change in vision doesn’t get a booking form.

    • Pain, an injury or sudden loss of vision goes straight to a call while the practice is open.
    • After hours, the same spot says where to go instead.
    • The form never pretends to be watched around the clock.
  5. The fee, and what Medicare covers.

    • The full fee comes first, then who Medicare covers and how often, set like a prescription slip.
    • No rebate figure sits on the card, so it never goes out of date. The practice gives the current amount when you book.
    • Glasses are priced separately, because Medicare doesn’t cover them.
  6. It’s yours. Take it anywhere.

    • Patients can have their prescription at the end of the consultation, at no extra fee, once it’s paid for or billed.
    • Saying so up front is the strongest trust signal an optometry site can give.
    • It separates the eye test from the shop, which is exactly what people worry about.
  7. Some visitors came because they can’t see well.

    • A text size control in the menu and the footer makes the whole page larger, and remembers the choice.
    • Body text starts large, with strong contrast, and nothing important lives inside a photo.
    • Buttons say what they do, so they still make sense when zoomed.
  8. The optometrist, and the person who fits your glasses.

    • Optometrists and the optical dispenser are named, with what each one does.
    • Qualifications are written in full. Interests are interests, never “specialist”.
    • Languages spoken are listed, because they decide who some people book with.

Built for the rules optometrists advertise under. No clinical testimonials, no “specialist” (there’s no specialist registration in optometry), and no prescription medicines named in advertising.

Switching in

You forward two or three logins: your domain, your current host, and your booking or enquiry system if you use one. We move the content, connect that system, set up redirects so Google keeps sending people to the right pages, and put it live. Your part is under an hour, total.

Switching back

Your old site stays where it is for 30 days after the new one goes live. If you’d rather have it back, for any reason, tell us and we point your domain at it the same day. You’re refunded in full and the care plan stops.

The advertising rules

Built for the rules optometrists advertise under.

Optometrists are registered under the National Law, so Ahpra’s advertising guidelines apply, along with a few rules that are yours alone.

Read the Advertising Guides

  • No clinical testimonials

Your Google rating can go on the site. Reviews that describe someone’s eye care stay on Google.

  • No “specialist”

Optometry has no specialist registration, so an interest in children’s vision or dry eye is described as just that.

  • No prescription medicines in the ads

Myopia and dry eye pages describe the care, not a named prescription medicine.

  • Fees shown as patients pay them

The full fee, the Medicare benefit if they’re eligible, and the gap. Never the rebate on its own.

You stay responsible for what your practice advertises, and we make it easier to get right.

All Questions, Answered

The free rebuild

Why is it free?

It’s the fastest way for you to judge our work without committing to anything, and it’s step one of your site if you go ahead. The rebuild becomes your homepage.

Is it just a template?

No. It’s built from your practice’s own services, team, hours and booking setup, on a structure designed for optometry practices. Joseph reviews every decision before it reaches you, and the video explains each one.

Do I have to talk to anyone?

No. You get the rebuild and the video by email and watch in your own time. If you’d rather talk, Joseph’s number is at the bottom of the page.

What happens to the rebuild if I say no?

Nothing. Keep the ideas and use them however you like. The preview link closes after 7 days, and we don’t publish it or show it to anyone without your permission.

We already have a web developer. Does that matter?

Not for the rebuild. You can use it to see what’s possible before deciding who builds it. If you go ahead with us, we handle the move and your developer doesn’t need to be involved.

Going ahead

Will it work with our booking system?

Yes. Book Online goes to the booking page you already use, such as MyHealth1st, HotDoc or Halaxy, which connect to practice systems like Optomate and Sunix. We confirm how yours connects before you approve your design, and tell you plainly what it can and can’t do.

How much work is this for me?

Send your address, watch a two-minute video, say yes or no. If yes, forward the logins we ask for. We do the rest, including talking to your current host or booking provider if something needs untangling.

What happens to my current site?

Nothing, for 30 days. It stays live on its existing host so it’s there if you want it back. After that you can cancel the old hosting, or we’ll do it with you.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

We map every page on your old site to the right page on the new one before we switch, so links and search results keep landing somewhere sensible. Rankings move for all sorts of reasons, but a redirect map is what stops a move from being one of them.

What if I don’t like it once it’s live?

Say so within 30 days. We point your domain back at your old site, refund your website fees in full, and stop the care plan. No form, no reason required.

What’s the catch with the 12 months?

The first year pays off the build in monthly instalments, so there’s no large upfront cost. After 12 months the price drops to the care rate. If you leave early, you pay out the build that remains, and we hand over your content and design files.

Who owns the site?

Your domain, content and photos are yours from the start. The site runs on our platform, which is how it stays fast, secure and looked after. Once the build is paid off, at month 12 or up front, we’ll export everything whenever you ask.
