Rex, VaultRE or AgentBox: real estate CRMs in Australia
The names in the office aren’t the names on the contracts any more. Who owns each CRM now, what the contracts say about renewals and leaving, and how each one gets your listings onto your own website.

On This Page
If you're choosing real estate software in Australia, the names you hear in the office aren't quite the names on the contracts any more. VaultRE is now MRI Vault CRM. AgentBox is now Reapit Sales. Rex is still Rex. None of them publishes a price, review sites have almost nothing on them, and their contracts handle renewals and leaving with your data very differently. This guide sets out who owns what, what the contracts say, and what to ask, plus the part I deal with: how each one gets your listings onto your own website.
- Who's whoVaultRE is MRI Vault CRM, owned by MRI Software. AgentBox is Reapit Sales, owned by Reapit. Rex is independent, backed by Potentia Capital.
- PriceNone of the three publishes one. PropertyMe, for property management, is the exception in this space.
- The contractRex goes month to month after any fixed term. Reapit's and MRI's published terms renew automatically for another full term unless you give notice in time.
I build websites for real estate agencies and have no commercial relationship with any of these companies. Everything here comes from their own pages, terms and press releases, read on 11 October 2026. Your actual contract terms are in your own proposal or order form, so check those.
Who owns what now
| You may know it as | Now called | Owned by |
|---|---|---|
| VaultRE | MRI Vault CRM | MRI Software, which bought VaultRE's parent, PropTech Group, in 2023 |
| Eagle Software | EagleCRM | MRI Software, via the same purchase |
| Box+Dice | MRI Box and Dice | MRI Software, since 2021 |
| AgentBox | Reapit Sales | Reapit, backed by private equity firm Accel-KKR, since 2018 |
| Console Cloud | Reapit PM | Reapit, since 2022 |
| Agentpoint | Reapit Websites | Reapit |
| Inspect Real Estate | Part of Reapit | Reapit, since 2023 |
| Rex | Rex | Rex Software, with Potentia Capital investing in 2022 |

So most of the Australian market is now two groups. That's worth knowing when you compare quotes: MRI sells three sales CRMs, and Reapit sells the sales CRM, property management, inspections and websites as separate products.
What they cost
Rex lists Starter and Professional plans as "Request pricing". MRI Vault asks you to "Complete the form to explore plans, pricing, and services". Reapit Sales, MRI Box and Dice and Eagle publish no prices either. You'll see figures on directory sites, but they conflict and aren't from the vendors, so I haven't repeated them. Setup fees and minimum terms are set in each agency's proposal.
The exception is PropertyMe, which publishes its prices including GST, monthly, cancel any time. It's mainly property management software, with a sales CRM (Grow CRM) and agency websites. If property management is part of your business, here's what it comes to.
Including GST. Property management prices are per 100 properties, with a 200-property minimum.
I've assumed the per-100 rate applies to each started block of 100; PropertyMe's page doesn't say how it rounds, so check your quote. Grow CRM Advanced includes five users, with more at $55 each.
The contracts, side by side
This is where they differ most. The table uses each company's published terms. Your proposal or order form can change the details, and MRI's published Australian terms may not be the exact document a Vault customer signs.
| Rex | Reapit (Sales, PM) | MRI (published Australian terms) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| After the first term | "Continue on a rolling monthly basis until terminated" | "Automatically renew for an additional Renewal Period", the same length as the first | "Automatically renew for the same length as the Initial Term" |
| Notice to leave | At least 30 days, or longer if your proposal says so | At least 2 months before the end of the term | At least 60 days before the end of the term |
| Price rises | No review during the fixed term, then an annual review with 30 days' notice | Once a year, by CPI plus at least 2 percentage points | Renewal pricing given in writing at least 90 days before the term ends |
| Your data when you leave | "You must extract all Data before termination" | Available to export for 30 days after, "at your request and cost" | A backup copy for a fee; may be deleted 30 days after |
| Where it's stored | "Australian customers' Customer Data is stored in Australia" | Data centres in Australia | Not stated in the terms I read |
Scroll the table sideways to see every column.
The practical points: put your notice date in the calendar the day you sign, because with an automatic renewal a missed deadline can mean another full term. And plan your data export before you give notice, not after. Rex lets users with the right permissions export to CSV themselves.
What each one does
| Rex | MRI Vault CRM | Reapit Sales | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Portal feeds | realestate.com.au and Domain, named | "Sync with portals in real time" | REA and Domain, named |
| Trust accounting | On the Professional plan | In the platform | A separate Reapit product |
| Property management | Commercial add-on; residential in Australia not confirmed | A separate MRI product | Reapit PM, a separate product |
| Open home check-in | QR code or kiosk | "Self-kiosk check-ins" | Not described on its page |
| Vendor reporting | A vendor portal, Rex Hub | Not described on its page | Digital vendor reports and log-in |
| Website | Rex Sites, an add-on | Not on the Vault page | Reapit Websites, a separate product |
| API for your own website | Open API | Open API, for approved integrators | On request, through Reapit support |
Scroll the table sideways to see every column.
Reviews won't help you choose. Capterra Australia shows Rex at 5.0 from 3 reviews and AgentBox at 4.3 from 3; MRI Vault and Box and Dice have none, and none of the three has a ProductReview listing. Ask each vendor for two agencies your size that have used it for more than a year, and call them.
Your listings on your own website
This is the part I deal with. Every one of these CRMs sends your listings to realestate.com.au and Domain for you, so you never touch the feed format. The question that matters for your website is whether the CRM will give your web developer your live listings, so your own site shows every property without double handling. You don't have to use the CRM's own website product to get that.
- Rex says it offers "API access for custom integrations" and can "Create direct integrations to websites".
- MRI Vault has an open API, and its documentation names this use: "You wish to display currently available listings from your VaultRE account on your website". Your web developer has to register as an approved integrator, and you grant access with a token you can revoke.
- Reapit Sales (AgentBox): integrators describe asking Reapit support to switch on listing access and issue API keys, which can take a while. Reapit's own website product syncs with Reapit Sales directly.
Whatever you choose, ask in writing: will you give my web developer a listings API or feed, is there a fee, and how long does it take to set up? My real estate websites page shows how I build agency sites around live listings.
Rules for agency websites
- Your name on advertising. NSW requires a licensee's advertisements to include the licensee's name, and NSW guidance says the rules apply to "both print and online advertising". Queensland requires prescribed particulars in a principal licensee's advertisements, and Consumer Affairs Victoria says "You must include the name of your agency in your advertisements". None of these sources requires a licence number, though showing it does no harm.
- Victoria's price statement. The Statement of Information is now the Property Price Statement, which must be shown "visibly or via a hyperlink immediately next to the advertised price" on the main online advertisement. If you're in Victoria, check that your website's listing pages have a place for it, and that your CRM's feed carries it.
- What's the minimum term, and does it renew automatically?
- How much notice do I give to leave, and by what date?
- What do I pay if I leave early?
- How and when can the fees go up?
- Can I export contacts, properties, listings and notes myself? Is there a fee for a full export, and how long after leaving can I get it?
- Where is our data stored, and which providers (including AI services) see it offshore?
- Which portals do you feed, and is there a cost per portal?
- Will you give my web developer a listings API or feed? Any fee, and how long does it take?
- Is trust accounting in this product, or a separate product and contract?
- Are the vendor portal, e-signing and open home check-in included, or add-ons with setup fees?
- In Victoria: does the website feed carry the Property Price Statement link?
- Can I speak to two agencies my size that have used it for over a year?
Questions I get asked
What CRM do real estate agents use in Australia?
Common names include Rex, MRI Vault CRM (formerly VaultRE), Reapit Sales (formerly AgentBox), MRI Box and Dice and EagleCRM. Most are now owned by two groups, MRI Software and Reapit.
Is VaultRE the same as MRI Vault?
Yes. MRI Software bought VaultRE's parent company and renamed the product MRI Vault CRM. The old vaultre.com.au address now redirects to MRI.
What happened to AgentBox?
It joined the Reapit group in 2018 and is now called Reapit Sales. Reapit also owns Console Cloud (now Reapit PM), Agentpoint (now Reapit Websites) and Inspect Real Estate.
How much does real estate CRM software cost?
Rex, MRI Vault and Reapit don't publish prices; you request a quote. PropertyMe publishes its prices, with Grow CRM at $198 or $396 a month including GST.
Can I use my own website with my CRM?
Yes. Rex and MRI Vault offer APIs for custom websites, and Reapit provides API access on request. Ask about fees and setup time before you sign.
What happens to my data if I change CRMs?
It depends on the contract. Rex's terms say to extract it before termination; Reapit's make it available for 30 days after, at your cost; MRI's provide a backup copy for a fee and may delete it after 30 days.
