Squarespace pricing in Australia, plan by plan
Squarespace shows Australians clear prices, but the plan is only part of the bill. GST goes on top, bookings and email are separate subscriptions, and year two costs more than year one. Every number from Squarespace’s own pages.

On This Page
Squarespace shows Australians clear prices in Australian dollars, which is more than some builders do. But the plan price is only part of the bill. GST goes on top, bookings and email marketing are separate subscriptions, and the free domain and free mailbox end after a year. So year two costs more than year one even if nothing about your business changes. I compete with Squarespace, so I've stuck to its own pages, read on 12 October 2026, and put its numbers next to each other.
- The plansA$17, A$28, A$49 or A$109 a month billed annually, or A$24 to A$149 billed monthly, all plus 10% GST.
- Most service businesses need CoreBasic can't embed a booking widget, allows only two editors and charges 2% on online sales.
- A typical first yearCore, Acuity bookings, a .com.au and two mailboxes: about A$764 including GST in year one, and A$925 in year two.
The four plans
Squarespace's prices for Australians are in Australian dollars and exclude GST. Its own words: "Prices listed on our website don't include GST". If you give it a GST-registered ABN, it doesn't charge GST.
| Plan | Billed annually, a month | Billed monthly | A year, annual, with GST |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | A$17 | A$24 | A$224.40 |
| Core | A$28 | A$39 | A$369.60 |
| Plus | A$49 | A$69 | A$646.80 |
| Advanced | A$109 | A$149 | A$1,438.80 |

Paying annually saves 27% to 29% in Australian dollars. Squarespace's page says "save up to 36%", which matches its older US prices, not these. Annual plans also come with a free domain for the first year; monthly plans don't. There's no free plan, but every site starts with a 14-day free trial, no card required.
Squarespace raised its US prices in July 2026. Australian list prices look the same as they were in late 2025, but anyone on an older plan can still get a price-rise email; the new price applies from the next renewal.

The row that decides it for most clinics, firms and studios is the third one. If your bookings run through Cliniko, HotDoc or similar and you want the booking widget on your site rather than a link, Basic can't do it.
The extras
Each of these is its own subscription with its own renewal date and its own refund rules, and cancelling your website doesn't cancel any of them.
| Extra | Price through Squarespace, before GST | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Acuity Scheduling (bookings) | A$20, A$37 or A$68 a month billed annually; A$22, A$40 or A$74 monthly | Starter is one calendar. Acuity's own site lists US$16, US$27 and US$49 |
| Email Campaigns | From A$11 a month (500 sends) to A$159 (500,000), billed annually | Sends count every recipient of every email; non-refundable |
| Google Workspace | A$118.80 a mailbox a year, or A$11.80 a month | Same as Google's own price. One free for the first year on Core and up |
| .com.au domain | A$27 a year regular; shown on sale at A$18.90 | Free for the first year on an annual plan. No refunds, no privacy option |
| Essential Email by Titan | A$4 a month | A cheaper mailbox option, not Google |

Two catches. Email Campaigns counts sends, not contacts: a practice with 600 people on its list can't send even one newsletter on the 500-send plan. And Acuity's Australian annual discount is small (7% to 9%) compared with its US one (20%).
If you already own a .com.au, keep it where it is. Squarespace can't take a .com.au transfer in, only connect it, and that keeps your domain independent of your website platform.
Year one and year two
Pick what you'd use. The starting numbers are a typical service business: Core billed annually, Acuity Starter, a new .com.au through Squarespace and two Google mailboxes, not GST-registered.
On those starting numbers, year one is A$764.28 and year two A$924.66, both including GST: 21% more for the same setup. Card fees on bookings and sales come on top on any platform; Stripe in Australia charges 1.65% + A$0.30 on domestic cards.
Which plan do you need?
Six questions. If you answer no to all of them, Basic will do.
Billing, renewals and refunds
- Refunds: a new annual website plan can be refunded in full within 14 days, less the cost of a free domain if you used one. Monthly plans and renewals aren't refunded.
- Renewal reminders: Squarespace emails 15 days before an annual plan renews. Monthly plans renew without a reminder.
- Domains: a .com.au is charged at least 18 days before it expires, with no grace period and no refunds.
- Currency: it's locked at your first payment, and prices don't move with the exchange rate.
- If a payment fails, your site stays visible for 15 days while Squarespace retries, then expires.
- If you cancel, the site shows a "Website expired" message and search engines stop indexing it. There's no free plan to fall back to. Add-on subscriptions keep billing until you cancel them separately.
Discount codes
Squarespace runs promo codes on its own coupons page, in banners on its site and in its ads. Before you use one, know three rules from its help centre: a code applies to the first payment only, codes can't be combined, and a code can't be combined with the free domain. If both apply, "we apply whichever discount saves you more", so with a big percentage code you may pay for your domain in year one. Check the order summary before paying. Students get 50% off the first annual plan through Student Beans. I couldn't find a nonprofit discount.
How it compares
Wix shows Australian prices including GST and Squarespace shows them before GST, so compare like with like: Squarespace Core at A$28 is A$30.80 with GST. I've compared the two in detail in Wix vs Squarespace, and Wix's full yearly cost in Wix pricing in Australia. If you're weighing a self-hosted site instead, see Squarespace vs WordPress.
My view
Squarespace's pricing is honest about what it is, in Australian dollars, and Core at A$28 a month plus GST is a fair price for what you get. Budget for year two, not year one: the free domain and free mailbox end, and bookings and email marketing are extra subscriptions with their own renewals. Put all the renewal dates in your calendar on the day you sign up.
If you'd rather not build or maintain it yourself, that's a different comparison, which I cover in how much a website costs in Australia.
Questions I get asked
How much is Squarespace a month in Australia?
A$17, A$28, A$49 or A$109 a month billed annually, or A$24, A$39, A$69 or A$149 billed monthly, all plus 10% GST.
Does Squarespace charge GST in Australia?
Yes, 10% on top of the listed price, unless you give it a GST-registered ABN.
Why is Squarespace so expensive?
The plan price is reasonable; the extras add up. Bookings, email marketing, mailboxes and a domain after the first year are separate subscriptions.
Is there anything cheaper than Squarespace?
Squarespace's Basic plan is A$17 a month billed annually, before GST. Other builders and self-hosted WordPress can cost less in cash, but compare what's included and what year two costs.
Does Squarespace give you a free .com.au?
Yes, for the first year on an annual plan. After that it renews at Squarespace's regular rate, currently A$27 a year before GST.
Can I get a refund from Squarespace?
A new annual website plan, within 14 days. Monthly plans, renewals, Email Campaigns and .com.au domains aren't refunded.
