What a clinic website costs in Australia, with the three-year total
bdog builds websites for clinics. Our prices are in this article, in full, next to everyone else’s. Market figures are typical ranges from quotes we’ve seen and been asked to match, not a survey. Prices exclude GST.

On This Page
Most web agencies don't publish prices. The reason is that the honest answer is a range, and the range looks bad next to a competitor's lowball. So you get "from $X" or "contact us", and you don't find out the real number until you've had two meetings.
We publish ours. Here they are, alongside what the other ways of getting a website cost, and the number that matters more than any of them: what you'll have spent after three years.
The four ways to get a clinic website
Do it yourself. Squarespace, Wix, or your booking system's built-in site. You pay a monthly subscription, usually somewhere between $20 and $60 a month depending on the plan, and your own evenings. Nobody checks the copy against Ahpra's rules. Booking integration is whatever you can work out from the help centre.
A template from a freelancer. Someone takes a theme, swaps in your logo and photos, and hands it over. Typically a few hundred to a couple of thousand dollars. Fast and cheap. The problems appear later: the theme stops being updated, a plugin breaks, the freelancer has moved on, and the site is hosted on an account you don't have the login for.
Custom from an agency. Designed for you, built for you, priced for you. In our experience a custom clinic site in Australia lands between $2,000 and $8,000 up front, and higher for multi-site groups. Then hosting and maintenance on top, commonly $50 to $150 a month, sometimes billed annually, sometimes forgotten until something breaks.
Subscription. You pay monthly, the build is spread over a year, and hosting, security and edits are in the price. This is how bdog works. It isn't the only way to do it well, but it's the one where you see the site before you pay anything, which is the bit we think matters.
What you're actually paying for
Whichever route you take, a clinic website has the same parts. When a quote is low, one of these is missing.
Design and build. The layout, the mobile version, the speed, and whether it works for a patient using a screen reader or no mouse website accessibility.
Copy. Someone has to write it, and for a registered practice, someone has to check it against the National Law. A designer who doesn't know that "specialist" is a restricted word has just built you a compliance problem. That's not in most quotes.
Booking integration. Wiring Book Now into Cliniko, Halaxy, Nookal, Zanda or whatever you run, per practitioner where the system allows it, with the click tracked.
Photos. Yours, of your rooms and your team. Stock photos are free and cost you patients.
Hosting. Where the site lives. From a few dollars a month for shared hosting to more for managed.
Domain. Your .com.au, renewed every year or two. A minor cost, but it has to be in your name, not your designer's. Check.
Security and backups. Certificates, updates, a copy of the site somewhere safe. Free to ignore until the day you need it.
Edits. Hours change. A practitioner joins. A service is added. Someone has to do it, and if the answer is "email the designer and wait", the site stops being current within a year.
Call tracking. Knowing how many calls the website produced. Optional, but it's the only way you'll ever know if the site is working.
A $1,500 site includes the first item and some of the fourth. An $8,000 site includes the first four. Everything else is a monthly cost somewhere, whether or not anyone told you.
Our prices
Three plans. Every one includes hosting, security, backups, call tracking, monthly edits and booking integration. Nothing is charged until you approve the design.
Single page: $249 a month. One long, fast page. For solo practitioners and new practices. Two edits a month. After twelve months: $89 a month.
Full site: $349 a month. Home, about, contact and three service pages. Three edits a month. After twelve months: $109 a month. This is the one most clinics pick.
Full site plus search pages: $449 a month. Everything above, plus a page for every treatment you want to rank for. Four edits a month, priority turnaround. After twelve months: $129 a month.
The first twelve months pay off the build. After that you're paying the care rate, which covers hosting, security, backups, your monthly edits and an annual design review. The site stays live with us and we don't rebuild it out from under you.
If you'd rather pay the build once: $1,920, $2,880 or $3,840, then straight onto the care rate. Same total over the year. Your accountant will have a view on which suits you.
Multi-site groups are quoted.
The three-year total
This is the table nobody publishes. Three years is about how long a clinic site lasts before someone wants it redone, so it's the honest comparison.
| Up front | Ongoing | Three-year total | What's missing | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DIY builder | $0 | $20 to $60 a month | $720 to $2,160 | Your time. Compliance check. Booking integration beyond a link. Anyone to call |
| Template freelancer | $500 to $2,000 | Hosting $10 to $30 a month, edits by the hour | $1,500 to $4,000, plus edits | Updates after handover. Copy check. Ownership of hosting and domain, often |
| Custom agency | $2,000 to $8,000 | $50 to $150 a month | $3,800 to $13,400 | Varies. Ask what edits cost and who owns the hosting |
| bdog Single page | $0 | $249 a month for 12 months, then $89 | $5,124 | Nothing listed above. One page only |
| bdog Full site | $0 | $349 for 12 months, then $109 | $6,804 | Nothing listed above |
| bdog Full site plus search pages | $0 | $449 for 12 months, then $129 | $8,484 | Nothing listed above |

Market rows are typical ranges, not quotes. Our rows are our prices, ex GST, and the one-off option totals the same.
Two things the table shows.
The cheap options aren't cheap once you add the parts they leave out, and the parts they leave out are the ones that get a registered practice into trouble.
And a $5,000 custom site with $100 a month maintenance costs $8,600 over three years, which is more than our Full site, and you paid $5,000 before you saw it. We'd rather you saw it first.
The cheap website trap
We rebuild a lot of sites that cost under $1,500. They have the same five problems.
It doesn't work on a phone. The theme was responsive in 2019. The phone number is in the footer. Book Now is a contact form.
Nobody can edit it. The freelancer's gone, the login's lost, the hours are two years out of date.
It's hosted on someone else's account. The designer's Squarespace, the freelancer's cPanel. When they stop paying, the site vanishes.
The domain isn't yours. Registered by the designer, in the designer's name. Getting it back is a negotiation.
The copy breaks the rules. "Specialist." "Pain-free." A testimonial slider. The practice didn't know, and the practice is the one Ahpra writes to.
None of these show up in the quote. All of them show up in year two.
Two columns, any two options, including ours. Copy it into a note or a spreadsheet and fill it in.

Questions we get asked
How much does a clinic website cost in Australia?
Custom, typically $2,000 to $8,000 up front plus monthly costs. Template, a few hundred to $2,000. DIY, $20 to $60 a month and your evenings. bdog, $249 to $449 a month for a year, then $89 to $129.
Why is a website a monthly cost?
Because hosting, security, backups and edits are monthly costs whether or not they're on the invoice. A subscription puts them on the invoice.
What happens after the twelve months?
The build is paid off, the price drops to the care rate, and the site keeps running with us. It's yours to keep using for as long as you want.
Can I take the site elsewhere?
Your domain, content, photos and logo are yours at any time. The site runs on our platform. After month 12 we export your content and hand over your design files when you ask. Before month 12, settle the remaining build first. The fine print on our homepage has the numbers.
What if I leave early?
You settle what's left of the build. On Full site the build is $240 of every $349. Leave at month six and the unpaid build is $1,440. Month nine, $720.
Is a website tax deductible?
Usually a business expense, but how it's treated depends on how it's structured and paid. Ask your accountant. We're not one.
Do I have to pay anything to see the mockup?
No. Send your web address, get your homepage back in two business days. No card, no deposit, no call.
Why don't other agencies publish prices?
Ask them.
